What the notice says

There is a current focus on effective working with Young Adults in South Central Probation in response to the 2022 managing young adults’ framework and the HM Inspectorate of Probation Effective Practice Guide: Working with Young Adults (2024) . The Policy Framework was launched to support the commitment made in the Probation Service Target Operating Model to improve the way Probation works with Young Adults and equip staff with focused guidance to work with Young Adults in the most effective way. South-Central have accepted HMIP’s recommendations and appointed a Young Adults lead to ensure recommendations for effective practice are embedded into their approach to working with Young Adults. The 2 largest cohorts of young adults within South Central are in Milton Keynes and Basingstoke. This provision will support a small number of Young Adults within the Basingstoke cohort that are at threat of serious violence with the aim of improving their engagement with Probation and other support services to reduce their likelihood of further offending.
