NEX26/29- Metro Go Technical Services Contract

The scope of the Metro Go Technical Services Contract is to assist Nexus with the development of the specification for the new Digital Command and Control system, Control Room and all associated peripheral systems; providing Safety Governance in line with CSM, ensuring its integration into the existing system, process and procedures. The aim of this element of Metro Go is for NEXUS to successfully procure and deliver a digital replacement for the existing system, including its installation, commissioning, and optimisation. The scope will be instructed through a series of Task Orders, there will be two Task Orders awarded with the contract. The Scope of the Technical Services Contract will include: • Correlation and Condition Survey of the existing system • Production of the Concept of Operations • Production of a Functional Specification and Technical Tender Documentation for a new Digital Command and Control System • Verifying and Validating the existing Nexus Signalling system, • Identify all interfacing systems • Creating of a digital twin for the existing system • Guidance, Navigation and Process development of organisational change • The design of a new Integrated Transport Control Centre • The design of a new Disaster Recovery Suite and associated building modifications. • Ergonomic and Human Factors Assessments for all interactions with the Proposed System and the migration to it. • Specification and Requirements for the Train Fleet • Specification and Requirement for Radio systems and infrastructure • Provision of a Regulatory Body and Legislator interface • Requirements and options for Data Storage and Security. • Any associated Environmental, Ecological mitigation or management, such as Biodiversity Nett Gain and Carbon offset. • Provision of Specialist input during the tender process. • Provision of Specialist support during the supply contract. • Optimisation advice following entry into service. • Any design related works associated with planning applications or similar. • All stakeholder work involved with the project. • Implementation and Construction Estimates. • Outline design development and construct programmes. • The first two Task Orders will be awarded with the Technical Services Contract Nexus will shortlist the Tenderers following the conditions of participation stage in November 2026. Shortlisted Tenderers will then be invited to ITT stage in accordance with the following anticipated procurement timeline: Conditions of Participation/PSQ stage: September - November 2026 Invitation to Tender (ITT) stage: November 2026 - January 2027 Anticipated Contract Award: March 2027 Anticipated Contract Start Date: April 2027 Nexus utilises the North East Procurement Organisation OPEN eProcurement portal for all tender opportunities.
